Students got to see police officers, K-9 units, EMS, the fire department, and even the HCA AirLIFE helicopter landing. We are so thankful for the brave men and women who serve and protect our community every day. ❤️💙

Today, our 1st–3rd graders had a special visit from Aaron Reynolds, the author of Creepy Crayons! 🖍️ He shared a read-aloud and brought so much excitement to our young readers. We loved getting to experience the story straight from the author himself—what a memorable day for our Scotties! 💙📖

We had another exciting day for our first and second graders! Today, Firefighter Connor Sharp visited Mahaffey and gave our Scotties a behind-the-scenes look at what it means to protect and serve. From stories of bravery to lessons in teamwork, students were inspired by his dedication and courage. A big thank-you to Firefighter Sharp for sparking curiosity and showing our Scotties what true community heroes look like! 🔥🚒🐾

Our first and second graders had a special treat today! 🚔 SWAT Officer Louis Macias visited Mahaffey and shared his experiences as a community leader and role model. Our Scotties were all ears and full of excitement as they listened to him speak. Thank you, Officer Macias, for inspiring our students and showing them the power of service and leadership right here in our own community!

Klein ISD earned an A rating in the College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) component of the Texas Education Agency’s 2025 A–F Accountability Ratings and maintained a B overall, rising from an 80 in 2023 to an 86 in 2025.
Since the TEA raised performance standards in 2023, the district has seen a 30% increase in A-rated schools, a 13% increase in B-rated schools, and a 55% decrease in C-rated schools, with no schools rated D or F. All five high schools and all ten intermediate schools earned an A or B, and students across Klein ISD earned 127 academic distinctions, a 37% increase since 2023.
